What is LiveCastr? (top)

LiveCastr is a new way of sharing your life from anywhere to the web directly from your mobile phone. Simply by video calling you can broadcast live to the LiveCastr website and directly to a personal player that you can embed on your community website profile page.

Example: you are at a party and want to share the event with your friends online. Simply pick up your mobile phone and start LiveCasting thereby immediately activating the players on your social network website and LiveCastr.com.

On the LiveCastr website you can view your own LiveCasts and watch many others live from around the world.

What can I do with LiveCastr? (top)

With LiveCastr you are able to live broadcast anything from your mobile phone directly to the web and to your personal website/page.

Imagine:

Do I need to sign-up?(top)

Yes. We currently invite you to join the LiveCastr test team. As a registered LiveCaster you get your own personal LiveCastr player. You can embed this at any website or at your profile page from the community site of your choice.

How can I make a LiveCast? (top)

Make a video call using the LiveCastr number in your country. As soon as you are connected you are live on the web. To stop LiveCasting simply disconnect as you would any normal phone call.

Advice: Add the LiveCastr number to your address book of your mobile phone.

2) LIVECASTR PLAYER

How do I get a LiveCastr player? (top)

Sign-up for LiveCastr. We will invite a first group of LiveCastr beta testers. If you are invited we will give you the personal embed code. To include your LiveCastr player simply paste this code on your website.

If you cannot embed the LiveCastr player on your website please request the website/ company to allow the LiveCastr player.

What can I do with the LiveCastr player? (top)

The player consists of three elements.

1: Play

In the player, LiveCasts will appear automatically when the user starts broadcasting. When there is no live broadcast, a carrousel will appear where you can find previous LiveCasts.

2: React

Directly from the player you can react to the person that is LiveCasting. Click react and a message field will appear, click send and the reaction will be transmitted directly to the person that is broadcasting.
You can show your enthusiasm by rating the cast, click the stars.

3: Share

Notify all your friends about the current LiveCast via the Send-a-Friend option. Sign-up for the alert list and you will get an email as soon as a new LiveCast is started.

3) VIDEO CALLING

What is a video call? (top)

A video call is a call between two mobile phones where both people can see and hear each other. 

Can I make video call? (top)

All you need is a 3G mobile camera phone and a video call feature. Video call is integrated in almost all modern mobile phones.

How do I make a video call? (top)

On most mobile phones you simply search for the person you want to video call in your address book or contact list. Click on OPTIONS and then select VIDEO CALL.

Alternatively you can go to the MAIN MENU and select VIDEO CALL. Your VIDEO CALL screen will load and then you select the person you want to call from your contact list.

What does it cost to make a video call? (top)

The cost of making a video call depends on your operator and your rate plan. Please check with your operator.

What about coverage? (top)

In some areas you might not be able to make video calls. Check with your operator about the coverage in the area near you. If you?re on a video call and you move out of a 3 video service area, your video call will drop.

What is 3G/UMTS? (top)

3G or UMTS means the third generation telephony standard. 3G allows for higher data speed and video calling.

How do I activate 3G / UMTS on my mobile phone? (top)

Look for SETTINGS in your MENU. Then find CONNECTIONS, here you normally have the option to select a regular GSM or 3G connection.

Check your phone manual.

Video call tips

Here are some tips to improve the quality of your video calls:

• Keep a close (not to close) distance from the camera.
• Move gradually. Don?t make sudden fast movements.
• Make sure there is sufficient lighting. Not too bright, not too dark.
• Speak up. Use your mobile?s headset for better sound quality.

International video calls

You can make video calls to other countries. Make sure to check the rate plan from your operator.
